Did you know that more than 280 million people practise yoga every year? It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you are flexible or not, from which country you are or which hobbies you have. Yoga is for literally everyone and that makes it so beautiful! Yoga means controlling the fluctuations of the mind and creating internal and external union which can be done by various ways. Practising asanas is one of the most popular paths of reaching optimum health, a more joyful and peaceful life.
The word „Yoga“ is derived from the Sanskrit root „Yuj“, meaning to join, to unite.
It is a system of breathing exercises, physical and spiritual disciplines, all originally designed to
bring the yogi to samadhi – the state of enlightenment.
As yoga offers a holistic approach to life, its teachings can be very valuable to modern society.
In ordinary western school you do not learn what to do if you feel fear, anger or frustration. You do
not understand what they are or where they come from. You do not know what it is to eat really
healthy. You do not learn what it means to keep your body in good shape and physical health and
why that also is important for your mental wellbeing
I would like to share with you how yoga changed my way of thinking and in addition to that –my life. There is nothing more important than that, because our life, mental state and well-being needs to be our priority. Many people are obsessed about their physical appearance and care less about more important thing, which is happening in our mind
You must have heard of karma before. According to the Bhagavad Gita and Indian philosophy, it’s the natural law of cause and effect. If you do good, you will receive good things.
Of course, we cannot always expect good things to happen. Life throws challenging events at us to support our growth and make us stronger.
Acting “well” means helping, sharing, working for the sake of love and kindness, without thinking of a personal reward.
Clavicular breathing is the final stage of total ribcage expansion. It occurs after the thoracic inhalation has been completed. In order to absorb a little more air into the lungs, the upper ribs and the collar bone are pulled upwards by the muscles of the neck, throat and sternum.
An important part of our yoga teacher training programs are the ethics of a yoga teacher. It’s our primary aim to pass on the values of a yoga teacher and encourage our students to teach spontaneously with authenticity. Hence, we provide diverse, challenging and motivating classes with modifications, explanations and interaction. The ethics of a yoga teacher are the key towards a prosperous path in the field of yoga. But what are the ethics of a yoga teacher exactly besides the basic yamas and niyamas?
Life is beautiful, unpredictable and wild. While we cannot control every aspect of our personal life, one thing is for sure: you never know what happens next and which challenge life throws at you next.
While some people fight these wonderful opportunities to grow, other completely surrender and use every moment as option to evolve and learn. Which one are you?
I’m Camille, a 26 year-old adventure lover, globetrotter and yogi on a mission. When my mother passed away at the early age of 40, I was completely devastated. I totally lost all joy in my life and desperately searched for a way to relieve my grief, pain and loss. I was in deep depression and didn’t know how to get out. At 22 I had my bachelors degree, but was feeling like the last years have only passively passed away. During my studies I didn’t even socialise much and never went to party or anything like that.
Yoga has a huge impact on you once you practice for some time. It makes you more sensitive, aware and conscious. You can use this sensitivity and increased awareness to create a more joyful and meaningful life.
The Sanskrit word mudra is translated as gesture or attitude. Mudras can be described as psychic, emotional, devotional and aesthetic gestures or attitudes.
Yogis have experienced mudras as attitudes of energy flow, intended to link the individual pranic force with the universal or cosmic force.
