Fertility Yoga Teacher Training

The 7-day Fertility Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga India Foundation covers a variety of interactive modules such as Fertility Yoga Asana, Meditation, Ayurveda & detoxification, Pranayama, Yogic Philosophy, Teaching Methodology and Yoga Anatomy.

Did you know that 1 in 6 couples worldwide struggle with an unfulfilled desire to have a child? Infertility is an increasing concern, leading many people to explore more holistic and alternative approaches to reproductive health. Prenatal yoga – as a specialized niche of yoga- bridges the gap between stress management, mindfulness, hormonal balance and emotional support.

The women and couples you’ll work with have often been through a lot by the time they begin with fertility yoga classes: diagnoses, losses, treatments and emotional strain to name a few. By completing our training, you will be able to give them yogic tools and understanding on how to improve fertility naturally and provide a space where they can open up, heal and re-establish their overall balance on various levels.

During our fertility yoga teacher training in India, we’ll explore the root causes and Yogic perspectives on: PCOS, Endometriosis, Hormonal Imbalance, Stress & Burnout, Irregular Cycles, Nervous System, Diabetes, Obesity, Inflammation and Dietary Changes.

The training is not only physically orientated but also explores the Yogic Samskaraviddhis (mental conditioning & purification) in-depth. You will learn how to relate fertility yoga to the ethical foundations of yoga and find new inspirations from Patanjali’s 8-Limbed Path of Yoga. This is very important as many women carry enormous self-blame. The Yamas and Niyamas offer a compassionate philosophical counterweight. For instance: the practice of non-violence (ahimsa) towards all living beings and oneself can help to reduce the harsh inner dialogue. We work with the body not against it.  Aparigraha (non-attachment) helps to release the grip of attachment to outcomes which can be very healing for women trying to conceive. Aparigraha does not mean giving up hope but rather freeing the nervous system from the paralysis of outcome-dependency.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Fertility yoga lowers cortisol, which is a main stress hormone. Often, high cortisol levels suppress the reproductive hormones. Reducing cortisol has a very positive effect on natural conception. Fertility yoga also improves the blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, which is helpful to increase the oxygen and nutrient supply. Additionally, the emotional support should not be underrated. Having guidance during the fertility journey and connecting with one’s soul and inner world can be very healing. Yoga has the effect of integrating body, mind and soul thus leading to a very wholesome experience.

The depth of this course is very unique. Most fertility yoga teacher training courses cover the surface or scratch on the surface of fertility yoga. However, we have designed a course in such a comprehensive way that we try to go very in-depth into the specific topics. We’re covering various ancient texts of Ayurveda and Yoga. We teach you about the nervous system, how yogic techniques affect HRV and hormones involved as well as the yogic philosophy behind everything. We teach you how to connect functional anatomy with Ayurvedic wisdom and mental inspirations from the yogic philosophy books. Additionally, you can expect comprehensive course books and PDFS to support your learning. Our on-site living Ayurvedic doctor will be available for free personal consultations throughout the training and herbal prescriptions to assist natural fertility.

Fertility yoga may support hormonal regulation by helping the brain and ovaries stay better “in sync,” especially through the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovaries working together. This can matter for hormones like estrogen and progesterone, which control ovulation and prepare the uterine lining for a possible pregnancy. Fertility yoga may support more consistent signaling of luteinizing hormone (LH) which triggers ovulation and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) which helps the follicles to mature.

A sincere interest to learn and grow in this area are mandatory. As this is a specialised course, a foundational knowledge of yoga is appreciated. In this way, the teachers can pick you up from your current level and go deeper into the various topics. It’s best if you complete at least 200 hours of training before joining this course.
