Our 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program invites you to escape from your everyday life and make peace with your mind and body.

This 14-day beginner course aims to introduce self-discovery and self-transformation.

You will learn how to release stress, stiffness and tensions effectively through asanas, breathing techniques and emotional blockage® treatment.

Our Himalayan yoga masters will offer tangible yogic techniques that you can take home and share with your friends and family.

During the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, classes are held Mondays to Saturdays from 6 AM to 7 PM. On Sundays, you can use your free day to relax and rejuvenate. We also offer some weekend activities so you have the opportunity to get to know the Indian culture and landscapes during your stay:  visit the waterfalls, trekking in the Himalayas, rafting, beach yoga, visit the vashisht cave, local market shopping, visit abandoned ashrams and temples or participate social work with slum children.

100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in India | Course Overview

1.Yoga Asana (Postures)

  1. The asana practise aims to increase your flexibility, theoretical understanding of yoga postures, strength and willpower. During the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga India Foundation, you will learn each asana Sanskrit name, benefit and alignment. This yoga teacher training covers:
    • 60 Traditional Hatha Postures
    • 25 AshtangaPostures
    • 2 SequencesforStrength
    • 4 Sequences for Balance
    • 2 Sequences for Stress Management

2.Pranayama (breathing techniques)

  1. Pranayama stands for control of breath. Pranayama removes subtle energy blocks and improves the respiratory system. Ancient breathing techniques are used as preparation for meditation and yoga. The body becomes purified and energised. The 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training pranayama classes will cover at least six different techniques including AnulomVelom and BrahmariPranayam.

3.Mantra Chanting (Sacred Sounds)

  1. Mantras are the Indian sounds of yoga that generate spiritual vibrations. Each mantra contains a special vibration and healing effect on the chakras. Through mantras, you can connect to yourself and every being. It helps you to overcome the limitations of the mind. During the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you will learn:
    • OM Chanting
    • Treyambakam Mantra
    • Shiva Mantra
    • Gayatri Mantra

     

4.Mudras and Bandhas (Gestures and Energy Lock)

  1. Practising Mudras or hand gestures stimulates the flow of energy. Bandhas are energy locks that expand the breathing capabilities. Both are of great importance in the yogic practise. Through Mudras and Bandhas, the practitioner unlocks various inner processes. During your 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you will cover:
    • Benefits and Meaning of Bandhas
    • A connection between physical and spiritual benefit
    • Jnana Mudra
    • Chin Mudra
    • Pranam Mudra

     

5.Meditation (Dhyana)

  1. Meditation encourages mental concentration, stress relief and inner transformation. Through continuous practise, you will feel more connected to yourself and increase patience, strength and overall well-being. During the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you will practise and learn how to meditate using various preparatory techniques such as power of transformation breathing, awareness meditation, conscious silent meditation, sound and kundalini meditation. Additionally, you will cover:
    • Theory and Meaning of Meditation
    • Scientific and spiritual benefits of Meditation
    • Group Meditation
    • Dancing Meditation

6.Shatkarma (YogicCleansing)

  1. Through yogic cleansing techniques such as Shatkarma or the six actions, you will be able to breathe better and feel more relaxed. Accumulated mucous is removed and the nadis (energy channels) are cleared out. This 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training covers Jal Neti and Sutra Neti which are the first two shatkarma techniques.

7.Yoga Anatomy and Physiology

  1. Understanding about the anatomy of yoga is very beneficial and important to prevent injuries. Learning about the different body systems including the muscles and skeletal system promotes harmony and self-awareness on the physical sphere. You will study about:
    • Physical and mental health
    • Introduction to the bodily functions and systems
    • The skeletal system
    • The muscular system
    • The cardiovascular system
    • The nervous system

8.Yoga Philosophy

  1. The philosophy of yoga will help you to connect your yoga practise with the theoretical wisdom underneath. Studying the ancient scriptures including Gita, Veda, Patanjali Yog Sutras establishes a strong and comprehensive understanding of yoga and your personal yatra. This 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training covers:
    • Introduction to Yoga Philosophy
    • Yamas and Niyamas
    • Outtakes of the Patanjali Yog Sutras
    • Outtakes of the Bhagavad Gita
    • Principles of Ayurveda
    • Karma Yoga
    • Different TypesofSamdhi

9. Emotional Blockage® Treatment

  1. Through Emotional Blockage® Treatment we can remove accumulated energy blocks and feel more light, free and relaxed. Negativity is removed quickly and the body becomes more flexible and healthy. The Emotional Blockage® Treatment was invented by Swami Bipin Gyan. It is an optional part of the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and requires discipline and surrender.

      Meals & Nutrition

      During your 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you will be served three delicious vegetarian meals per day. All meals are prepared freshly with natural and seasonal ingredients.

      At the Yoga India Foundation Ashram, you will not find any frozen or processed foods. We encourage and promote yogic diet and health.

      All meals aim to nourish your body’s needs so that you feel energized and strong.

      At breakfast, we serve oats with home-made soy or coconut milk, Dalia, porridge, fresh fruits, Indian breakfast, home-made peanut butter and herbal tea.

      At lunch and dinner, you will enjoy great varieties of different vegetables, rice, chapati, dhal pulses, chutneys, curries, soups and salads.
